Plymouth Pilgrim Tours are beneficial to your learning, health and general well-being giving you understanding and interest in the hidden history of your home town, Plymouth! At Plymouth Pilgrim Tours our main aim is to make learning enjoyable and educational for all ages, so we provide tours for all of the family. All of our tours are conducted in small groups at a gentle walking pace and are easy to follow.
Our tours are child-friendly and we supply fun tour packs for children that will engage them fully in the learning! These are full of quizzes, a treasure hunt and exciting dressing up opportunities! If you’re booking a tour for your educational institution or your home-school group, feel free to contact us directly in case we need to make any additional arrangements or provide more information on a particular learning point!
We currently have 4 tour options;
This Discovery Tour walks the footsteps of the historic Sir Francis Drake, The Pilgrim Father, and Captain Cook as well as visiting the secret garden and many other areas of Plymouth’s hidden history! This tour lasts approximately 1hr 15mins and is suitable for all ages!
This Discovery Tour includes a visit to the secret garden plus a trip to the iconic Plymouth Hoe to view the stunning seascape and our very own striped lighthouse, Smeaton’s Tower! With the views of The Citadel and Plymouth’s breakwater, this tour is sure to pique your interest in Plymouth’s stunning views! This tour lasts approximately 1hr 30 mins.
This extensive discovery tour offers a tour across the Barbican and Plymouth Hoe, stopping at historic monuments of various individuals who shaped Plymouth’s history! We also offer an optional refreshment break halfway! This tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
Our Devonport Tour focuses on one of the three towns that made up the urban area of what is now known as Plymouth. During this tour, you will get to find out about the origins of the town and its connection with the Navy, Army and wartime leaders during both world wars! This tour lasts approximately 1hr 30 mins.
All of our tours are walking tours and therefore we recommend wearing the most comfortable walking shoes for yourself! You are welcome to bring small snacks to nibble along the way and of course, we recommend checking the weather in case you may need a raincoat along the way!
